Azurite Malachite Matched Pair Cabochon
This gorgeous matched pair round Azurite Malachite designer stone cabochons are 21 mm in diameter and 4 mm thick. They are backed with a thin layer of black agate for stability.
A very pretty royal blue Azurite and green Malachite matched pair cabochons from the Morenci mine in Arizona.
Azurite is a very popular mineral because of its unparalleled color, a deep royal blue called "azure", hence its name. Azure is derived from the arabic word for blue. The color is due to the presence of copper (a strong coloring agent). Azurite has been used as a dye for paints and fabrics for eons. It is very similar in composition to Chrysocolla and often found with green Malachite, but rarely are all three found together.
Metaphysical Properties of Azurite Malachite: The combination of Azurite Malachite produces flexibility. It generally allows one to reach into the inner depths without fear, bringing self-acceptance and ultimately self-love in the process.
Cabochons are stones cut for jewelry and are measured in mm. One inch is equal to about 25 mm. 13 mm is only about 1/2 inch.
