Brazilian Piranha Agate Rock Rough Slab Stone Cabbing These gorgeous pieces of Piranha Agate from Brazil are a rich carmel color and very translucent! Piranha agate comes from the State of Parana, near Guarapuava, Brazil and appears to be closely related to what is generally called Brazilian agate. The name is believed to be a misspelling of its location! No gemstone is more creatively striped by nature than agate, chalecedony quartz that forms in concentric layers in a wide variety of colors and textures. Each individual agate forms by filling a cavity in host rock. As a result, agate often is found as a round nodule, with concentric bands like the rings of a tree trunk. The bands sometimes look like eyes, sometimes fanciful scallops, or even a landscape with dendrite trees. These are 2 large chunks that total 13.45 lbs. The piese are shown wet in the first picture. The material is rich, banded browns and it is translucent. The cabochon is not included but is shown as a sample of the material. You will get these 2 pieces, however I do have more of this material available in quantity-please contact us if you are interested in purchasing more. There is a 20 pound minimum order.
