Purple Fluorite Crystal Mineral Specimen Beautiful dark purple natural Fluorite crystal mineral specimen from Mexico. Fluorite is a calcium fluoride crystal with a hardness of 4. It can be found in a wide range of colors, sometimes in multiple colors. It is named after its composition containing fluorine (Latin, fluere = "to flow"). During the 19th century, fluorite was mined in England for its ornamental value. This larger specimen is 3.5 inches long by 3 inches deep and 3 inches tall. It weighs 1.6 lbs.
