Stone Animal Carving Bear Tigereye Jewelry Necklace Rock Tigereye or Tiger's eye) is a quartz usually with rich yellow and brown stripes, but can be red or blue. It contains oriented fibers of crocidolite that have been replaced by silica. The fibers are twisted or crumpled instead of straight, reminiscent of sand and sunlight. Tigereye is also vitreous (hard, unbendable and glasslike). With its strong chatoyance, the gemstone gets its name from its resemblance to the eye of a tiger. Custom hand carved into a small pendant, more than 1.25 inches long by more than .75 inch tall and about .25 inch thick. It is drilled through its middle, and strung on a cloth cord that is adjustable to hang at any length you want up to 13 inches. I have 2 of these so yours may not be the one pictured E-mail a friend about this item. | |||||||||||||||
