Orange Selenite Stone Hand Carved Animal Elephant Rock

This beautiful hand carved elephant is so cute! It is carved from orange Selenite from the Ural Mountains in Russia.

Selenite is a form of Gypsum, which is one of the more common minerals in sedimentary environments. It is a major rock forming mineral that produces massive beds, usually from precipitation out of highly saline waters. Since it forms easily from saline water, gypsum can have many inclusions of other minerals and even trapped bubbles of air and water.

Selenite shows a pearl like luster and has been described as having a moon like glow. The word selenite comes from the greek for Moon and means moon rock.

The elephant is the symbol of strength, luck and wisdom. The elephant is also considered a strong symbol of luck - keep a lucky elephant at the door to your house to protect from bad luck and to bring good luck to all who live there.<>

Elephants have been revered in Thailand for many centuries. In fact they are the national symbol of Thailand. And of course, the symbol of the Republican party here in the U.S.A.!

The elephant has a matt finish (not a high gloss) and it is more than 1.5 inches inches tall and 1.25 inches wide by 2 inches long. The picture is for sample purposes only-I have 7 of these. They are all very similar but due to being hand carved from natural materials they vary slightly. They may have small white spots, but they are very cute!!

Metaphysical Properties: Selenite is said to be a stone of mental clarity, enhancing mental flexibility and strengthening decisions. It also promotes good business practices. And it aligns the spine, is good for the skeleton, and decreases epilepsy and seizures.
