Orange Selenite Stone Hand Carved Animal Persian Kitty Cat Rock

This beautiful hand carved Cat is so cute! It is carved from orange Selenite from the Ural Mountains in Russia.

Selenite is a form of Gypsum, which is one of the more common minerals in sedimentary environments. It is a major rock forming mineral that produces massive beds, usually from precipitation out of highly saline waters. Since it forms easily from saline water, gypsum can have many inclusions of other minerals and even trapped bubbles of air and water.

Selenite shows a pearl like luster and has been described as having a moon like glow. The word selenite comes from the greek for Moon and means moon rock.

The cat is 2 inches tall and 1.25 inches wide by 1.25 inches thick. The picture is for sample purposes-I have 3 of these available. They are all very similar but vary slightly because they are hand carved from natural material! They may have some white spots, but you will be pleased-they are soo cute!
