Bloodstone Jasper Stone Rough Rock for Cabbing

Bloodstone from India. It is shown wet in the first picure. This unpolished slab is 3.75 inches by 3.5 inches and 5 mm thick. It weighs .24 lbs.

Lovely dark green jasper with tiny red spots (iron oxide). This attractive chalcedony quartz is also known as Heliotrope because in ancient times polished stones were described as reflecting the sun. Even today, finely pulverised bloodstone is used as a medicine and aphrodisiac in India.

Medieval Christians used it to carve scenes of the crucifixion. The legend of the origin of Bloodstone says that it was first formed when some drops of Christ's blood fell and stained some jasper at the foot of the cross.

Metaphysical Properties:Bloodstone is said to keep you from getting discouraged when facing obstacles and it can help dispel feelings of isolation and loneliness.
