Kalahari Jasper Handcrafted Stone Pill Box

Lovely! A handcrafted Kalahari Jasper stone pill box!

This superbly crafted box is more than 2 inches long by 1.75 inches wide and the box is about 1/2 inch thick, with the stone it is 3/4 inch thick. The stone is about 1.5 by 1.25 inches.  The box is 24 Karat gold plated and it has a white plastic lining divided into 3 small storage areas.  

This material is from the Kalahari Desert in Africa.

Jasper is an ornamental rock composed mostly of chalcedony, microcrystalline quartz, in association with other minerals, which give it colorful bands and patterns. Jasper was a favorite gem in the ancient world, and the name jasper can be traced back in Hebrew, Assyrian, Persian, Greek, and Latin.
