Drusy Chrysocolla Crystal Rock Mineral Specimen Beautiful blue Drusy Chrysocolla from the Bagdad Copper Mine in Arizona! Drusy (or druse) is a trade name for a natural surface texture of fine quartz crystals that sparkle. The drusy reflects the color of the stone below. Chrysocolla is a copper silicate and is found in the copper oxide zones of major copper deposits. It is usually found with other copper ores, most commonly Malachite. Chrysocolla is known as a healing stone among Native American Indian cultures where it was used for strengthening the body's resistance and bringing about calm feelings where there is upset. The name Chrysocolla first appears in the writings of Theophrastus (315 BC). Chrysocolla is named from the Greek chrysos - "gold" and kolla - "glue" in allusion to the name of the material used to solder gold. Metaphysical Properties: Chrysocolla is associated with serenity, tranquility, peace, patience, tolerance, acceptance, uncondional love, meditation, calmness, hope gentleness and sensitivity. This mineral specimen is a chunk of Chrysocolla Malachite covered with small stalagtite fingers, and they are coated with drusy. Some of the tips are broken off.
