ONE Australia Crazy Lace Agate Polished 1.5 inch Heart Stone Rock

This is Crazy Lace Agate is from Australia. Crazy Lace Agates are banded chalcedony (microcrystalline quartz) that are often infused with iron and aluminum. Creamy browns, blacks, grays and golds (and occasional pinks) swirl together creating complex patterns that make this a unique agate.

These hearts have less orange and yellow and more gray and white than the others listed!

These hearts are all hand carved and about 1.5 inches wide by almost 1.5 inches long, puffed and polished on both sides and .75 inch thick. This listing is for one-you will not get the one pictured, I will choose for you!

Agate was highly valued as a talisman or amulet in ancient times. It was said to quench thirst and protect against fever. Persian magicians used agate to divert storms. Mithridates, king of Pontus, had a collection of thousands of agate bowls. Agate bowls were also popular in the Byzantine Empire. Collecting agate bowls became common among European royalty during the Renaissance and many museums in Europe, including the Louvre, have spectacular examples.
