10 Brazilian Agate Stones Cabochons Gemstone Buttons This is lovely, translucent, striped Brazilian Agate from Brazil. This auction is for the 10 pictured stones. They are clear with bands of red and yellow. Agate is a form of Chalcedony, or a microcrystalline quartz. The name is derived from its occurrence at the Achates River in southwestern Sicily. Banded agates are some of the most popular agates. They are found all around the world, with Brazil being one of the most productive sources. These cabochons are cut with the creative jeweler in mind. They are all about 18 mm by 13 mm rectangles with rounded edges and 3-4 mm thick. They could be used in a craft or as buttons. They are not drilled! This is just $2.50 per stone!
