African Chrysocolla Malachite Polished Decorator Rock

This is lovely polished piece of sky blue Chrysocolla and light green Malachite. It is "rough" polished all the way around, but has natural crevices and pits. This material is VERY fragile and tends to leave little blue chips behind!

This material is found in the oxidation zone of major copper deposits. This piece came out of the Katanga Mine, in the Congo, Africa.

Piece is 4.5 inches long by 4.25 inches wide, and almost 3 inch at its thickest.

Chrysocolla is known as a healing stone among Native American Indian cultures where it was used for strengthening the body's resistance and bringing about calm feelings where there is upset.

Chrysocolla is named from the Greek chrysos - "gold" and kolla - "glue" in allusion to the name of the material used to solder gold. Malachite is is named for the Greek word for "mallow", a green herb.

Metaphysical Properties: Chrysocolla is associated with serenity, tranquility, peace, patience, tolerance, acceptance, uncondional love, meditation, calmness, hope gentleness and sensitivity. Malachite is said to assist you in changing situations. A great soothing combination!
