Coyamito Agate Stone Gemstone Cabochon Gorgeous Coyamito Agate! Coyamito comes from about 30 miles north of the famous Laguna Agate area in Chihuahua, Northern Mexico and is well known for its vibrant colors of red, yellows, blues, and pinks! It is found in multiple deposits on the Coyamito Ranch, hence the name! The Coyamito agate deposit produces more pseudomorphs than any other agate location. It comes mostly in small nodules. Agate is a member of the chalcedony family, or a microcrystalline quartz, and it has a hardness of about 7 on the Moh's scale. The name is derived from its occurrence at the Achates River in southwestern Sicily. Metaphysical properties: In general Agates are said to be stabilizing and strengthening. They improve memory and increase energy. This small, lovely lavender purple cabochon is cut into an oval shape, with the creative jeweler in mind. It is 18 mm by 14 mm and 4 mm thick. In many traditions agate is believed to cure the stings of scorpions and the bites of snakes, soothe the mind, prevent contagion, quiet thunder and lightning, secure the favor of the powerful, and bring victory over enemies.
