Fossil Coral Bargain Cabochon Fossil coral is actually a chalcedony pseudomorph after coral. It is ancient coral that has changed into an agate. The process occurred when silica in the ocean water hardened, replacing the limy coral. The term fossil refers to any preserved remains or imprint of a living organism (usually ancient). This beautiful black and white coral has a striking dot and spray pattern. They are collected by goat herders in Northern Africa and the material is very limited! This custom cut oval cabochon is 40 mm by 26 mm and 5.5 mm thick. Shipping terms: I am always happy to combine shipping. Ebay customers-for accurate combined billing, please wait for my invoice!
