This orange banded Calcite is from Mexico.

It is one of the most common minerals on the face of the Earth, comprising about 4% by weight of the Earth's crust and is formed in many different geological environments. Calcite is found in a wide variety of colors and locations throughout the world. It is found in massive chunks, not crystals.

Calcite gets its name from "chalix" the Greek word for lime.

Metaphysical Properties: Calcite is said to alleviate emotional stress, replacing it with serenity, and enhancing trust in oneself and the ability to overcome setbacks.
