Azurite Malachite Sterling Silver Earrings

Colorful royal blue Azurite, and bright green Malachite, both hydrous copper carbonates. Azurite, named for its azure blue color, usually forms first and then changes to Malachite, when there is a higher percentage of water present.

This material comes from the Morenci Copper Mine in Arizona.

This lovely matched pair is custom set in a genuine Native American hand-crafted sterling silver pierced earring setting. Stones are freeform triangular shaped, 30 mm by 18 mm. They are stamped "GB" which I assume is the artist, but I'm afraid I'm not more knowledgable, and "sterling".
