This is a orbicular Ocean Jasper cabochon. This oval cabochon is a lovely pink color! It is 29 mm long by 12 mm wide and 5 mm thick.
This variety is silicified rhyolite flow from off the northwest coast of Madagascar. It can only be seen and collected at low tide. The area has no road, so the material must be transported to civilization by boat.
This type of Jasper was so named because of its location and its resemblance of foam as it recedes back into the ocean, with its wavy patterns of green-gray, white, cream, beige, brown, pink and maroon. Metaphysical Properties: Ocean Jasper is believed to teach responsibility and patience, as well as aid in regulating breathing for meditation.
