Frog on Leaf on Black Cord Necklace Stone Gemstone Gem This one is carved from Goldstone. Thousands of shiny flecks of gold in a rust orange stone, invented by accident in the 19th century. The story has it that a monk accidentally dropped copper shavings into a vat of molten glass to create this fabulous material. This man-made glass shimmers with every move. This hand carved frog .75 inch long by more than .5 inch wide and the whole piece is .5 inch thick. It sits on a 1.25 inch by .75 inch green leaf carved from Aventurine-a green quartz from Brazil. It has lots of detail and is very nice! Thousands of shiny flecks of gold in a rust orange stone, invented by accident in the 19th century. The story has it that a monk accidentally dropped copper shavings into a vat of molten glass to create this fabulous material. This man-made glass shimmers with every move. The frog represents healing, cleansing, health, and honesty. In myths they are bringers of rain or thunder, calling the water down with their croaking. In Ancient China toads were a symbol of longevity, and they were associated with Liu Hai, the God of wealth. In Rome, the frog was believed to bring good luck to the home.
