Maw Sit Sit Slab Rough Rock Gemstone

A rough piece sliced on three sides of green Maw Sit Sit. Maw Sit Sit is a rare green gemstone that has dark green to black veining; it sometimes has white spots. Maw-sit-sit has a hardness of 6.

This stone is found near jadeite, in fact jadeite is a component, but there is some controversy on whether it can be called Jade.

Although its exact composition is still unknown, Maw-sit-sit is composed of chromite, ureyite, chrome jadeite, symplektite, chrome amphibole, and other lighter minerals.

The piece is shown wet in the first 2 pictures. It is 3 inches by 2 inches by 1.75 inches thick. It weighs .72 lbs or 330 grams. It is not the high grade green material-it is mottled with lots of white. Still a very unique and pretty commercial grade piece.
