Aventurine Rough Rock Aventurine (sometimes misspelled "adventurine") is a green quartz stone. The green comes from tiny inclusions of Fuchsite. This material comes from Brazil. The natural mineral aventurine takes its name from the well-known aventurine glass of Venice, Italy, which it resembles. As for how the glass obtained its name, tradition has it that in the 1700's a Murano workman accidentally dropped some copper filings in molten glass, creating an attractive new material. And so the glass was named avventurino for the Italian word avventura, or "by chance." Its iridescence is caused by mica inclusions. In Ancient Greece, this stone was sewn into the clothing of men going to war to help preserve their courage and optimism in battle. It’s known for its ability to help bring about good luck. These pieces are natural pieces of stone, roughly broken or sliced into a square. They are about 2 inches by 2 inches and they are drilled with a 10 mm or not quite .5 inch hole. They were origially intened to be gem tree bases, but could be used as a base for your craft project, a candle holder, or even a pen holder! It could also be used as a meditaiton stone or just a decorator rock in your home. Aventurine is the stone of HAPPINESS! This lot of 4 rough rocks weighs 16.76 lbs and is shown wet in the first 2 pictures. Metaphysical properties: Green Aventurine is said to be a stone of optimism and zest for life. Aventurine is also a wonderful stone for strengthening one’s sense of self and a positive outlook in life. It helps one move forward with confidence into new situations such as a new job, new school, or new relationship. It is a also good stone to help stimulate dreams.
