ONE Hematite 2 inch Stone Egg Hematite is a silvery, shiny opaque black gemstone that almost looks like metal. It was used in seals as early as 2500 B.C. Roman warriors used it as protection during battles, and Native Americans used it to make red face paint. Until recently cosmetic blush contained ground hematite. Hematite gets its name from the Greek Haimo for "blood", because of the color of its powder (hence the red streak it leaves). These hand carved eggs are 50 mm or 2 inches in height. The listing is for ONE. You won't get the one pictured, but they all look alike!
