Rhyolite Stone Animal Carving Dolphin Dancing in the Waves Rhyolite carved into a dolphin. Beautiful baise swirls. Rhyolite is an extrusive igneous rock formed as a deposit of volcanic ash. The ash becomes rock after being exposed to extreme heat and pressure. Iron oxide stains create the beautiful patterns. The name comes from the Greek word meaning "to flow" because the rock shows flow structure formed when it was molten. This carving is 2.5 inches tall, 1 inch wide and 2 inches deep. Native Americans believed that the dolphin was a symbol of trust and loyalty. It was often given in the spirit of friendship. The Dolphin represents joy, childlike play, helpfulness, and harmony. The Dolphin can teach us much about harmony with others, and are therefore a great symbol for friendship. Dolphins can take away tensions and help bring joy to your life. For the Greeks, Dolphins represented the sacred and righteous. Please note: Items are One of A Kind, due to the natural stone material there may be some natural cracks or inclusions.
