Wulfenite Mineral Specimen Rock San Francisco Mine, Mexico Wulfenite is a lead molybdate mineral. It can be most often found as thin tabular crystals but the color can be highly variable. Usually from a yellow, to a brown, to even red. Wulfenite is named for Franz Xavier von Wulfen (1728-1805), an Austrian mineralogist. This specimen has lots of crystals that are a golden brown color. There is some small damage to the crystals. It comes from the San Francisco Mine in Sonora Mexico. This mineral specimen is about 3.5 inches long, by about 3 inches wide, and almost 2 inches thick.
