Stone Animal Carving Bulldog Dog Standing Brown Rhyolite Rhyolite is an extrusive igneous rock formed as a deposit of volcanic ash. The ash becomes rock after being exposed to extreme heat and pressure. Iron oxide stains create the beautiful patterns. The name comes from the Greek word "rhyx" meaning "to flow" because the rock shows flow structure formed when it was molten lava. The material is ground smooth, but does not take a polish. It comes from Utah. Metaphysical Properties: Rhyolite is said to encourage change and creativity. Custom hand carved into a small pendant, 1.25 inches long by 1 inch tall and .25 inch thick. It is drilled on its back, and strung on a cloth cord that is adjustable to hang at any length you want up to 13 inches. E-mail a friend about this item.
