Rhodonite

Rhodonite Rhodoniteis pink semi precious gemstone, that is a manganese metasilicate with a hardness of 5.5 to 6.5. The black dendritic inclusions are manganese oxide. It may also have white inclusions which are calcite. Rhodonite can be found in crystal formation, but they are very rare.

This stone gets its name from the Greek word rhodos meaning rosy. Rhodonite was once used to make service platters in Russia and was often given as a gift during royal czarist weddings.

Rhodonite is the official gem of Massachusetts. Though actually found there and in several other locations around the world, including Russia and Australia, the vast majority of Rhodonite is coming from Menas Gerais, Brazil .

Metaphysically Rhodonite can help you discover and develop hidden talents. It is also said to help you lose weight!

OakRocks has been in the rock and mineral business for 30 years. We are a great source for Rhodonite and carry a selection of Rhodonite animal carvings, rough slabs, eggs, spheres, and Rhodonite cabochons.
