OakRocks Lapidary Rock Shop
Bruce has a Graduate Gemologist Degree from the Gemological Institute of America and is a member of the American Gem Trade Association. He started rockhounding with an uncle as a kid, joined a club and competed in club gem shows, then learned in a Jr. High jewelry class that he could make money selling jewelry to teachers and neighbors! As a teenager he worked in several lapidary rock shops. We had the contract for collecting rights at the Bagdad Copper Mine in Arizona for several years. Anyone in the lapidary rock and mineral shop business knows how difficult it is becoming to obtain new materials. Government regulations, mining expeditures (especially fuel cost!) and the cost of transporting or shipping material has made many locations nonviable.
We do not have a brick and mortar lapidary rock shop here in Phoenix, Arizona. We sell online and at lapidary rock and mineral shows. We do not wholesale on this website but we do have a wholesale rock shop named Barlow's, where we do carry many of the same or similar items. We sell everything from cabochons (both designer and bargain), to decorator polished pieces, lapidary rough rock, stone slabs, gemstone spheres and eggs, beads, bead pendants, minerals, fossils and more! We are always hunting for new materials or sources. We especially liked to purchase old lapidary rock collections. If its time to sell yours, or you have inherited one-please contact us. We will be happy to share our expertise with you! You can see us at the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show in January-February at the InnSuites Rm. 116-117, or at the Denver Gem and Mineral Show in September at the Holiday Inn in the tent in the north parking lot. | ||||||||
