Azurite Malachite Gemstone Cabochon
This oval shaped Azurite Malachite jewelry cabochon is 38.5 mm long by 13 mm wide and 5 mm thick.
It is backed with a thin layer of black agate for stability.
A very pretty royal blue Azurite and green Malachite cabochon from the Morenci Copper mine in Arizona.
Azurite is a very popular mineral because of its unparalleled color, a deep royal blue called "azure", hence its name. Azure is derived from the arabic word for blue. The color is due to the presence of copper (a strong coloring agent). Azurite has been used as a dye for paints and fabrics for eons. It is very similar in composition and often found with green Malachite.
Metaphysical Properties of Azurite Malachite: This combination produces flexibility. It generally allows one to reach into the inner depths without fear, bringing self-acceptance and ultimately self-love in the process.
Cabochons are stones cut for jewelry and are measured in mm. One inch is equal to about 25 mm. 13 mm is only about 1/2 inch.
