Skull Stone Carved Tigereye Tiger's Eye
Lovely golden Tiger's Eye from Africa. This lapidary rock is carved into a "rough" skull shape-designed to emulated an ancient partly decomposed buried skull.
The Tigereye skull carving is 5 inches long by 3.25 inches wide and 3.25 inches tall.
Tiger's Eye is a quartz usually with rich yellow and brown stripes, but can be red or blue. It contains oriented fibers of crocidolite that have been replaced by silica. The fibers are twisted or crumpled instead of straight, reminiscent of sand and sunlight. Tiger's Eye is also vitreous (hard, unbendable and glasslike).
With its strong chatoyance, the gemstone gets its name from its resemblance to the eye of a tiger.
Metaphysical properties of Tiger's Eye: Tiger's Eye is said to be a stone of protection that is also very grounding. It enhances integrity, willpower, practicality and correct use of power. It is a stone that enhances good luck, and brings prosperity, often in the form of money. Tiger's eye is also a very protective stone, and is especially protective during travel.
The skull is a universal symbol for death and mortality. Something that has fascinated people forever. But it is actually believed that in ancient times the skull represented life. Skulls and skeletons are the main symbol of the Mexican holiday, Day of the Dead. The skull and crossbones is a popular symbol for both pirates and poison.
New Age believers and some metaphysical healers believe that gemstone skulls represent doom and destruction, or hope and healing. Some people believe that skulls can be used like crystal balls to see visions of the past, present and future. They claim that the hand carved stone skulls emit psychic energy, auras or even sounds.
