Tigereye Polished Stone Cabochon
This is flashy gold chatoyant Tigereye or Tiger's Eye large round stone cabochon is 58 mm in diameter and 6 mm thick.
Tiger's Eye is a quartz usually with rich yellow and brown stripes, but can be red or blue. It contains oriented fibers of crocidolite that have been replaced by silica. The fibers are twisted or crumpled instead of straight, reminiscent of sand and sunlight. Tiger's Eye is also vitreous (hard, unbendable and glasslike). With its strong chatoyance, the gemstone gets its name from its resemblance to the eye of a tiger.
Tigereye comes from South Africa.
Metaphysical properties of Tigereye: Tiger's Eye is said to be a stone of protection that is also very grounding. It enhances integrity, willpower, practicality and correct use of power. It is a stone that enhances good luck, and brings prosperity, often in the form of money. Tiger's eye is also a very protective stone, and is especially protective during travel.
Cabochons are stones cut for jewelry and are measured in mm. One inch is equal to about 25 mm. 13 mm is only about 1/2 inch.
