Tigereye or Tiger's Eye Rough Rock Slab Stone for Cabbing
Lovely smaller flashy unpolished stone slab of Tiger's Eye or Tiger Eye from Africa.
This lapidary rough rock stone slab is 3.27 inches by about 2.5 inches (3.2 inches at its widest) and 6 mm thick (with one thick corner).
This unpolished Tigereye slab weighs .18 lbs. and is shown wet in the first 2 pictures.
Tiger's Eye is a quartz usually with rich yellow and brown stripes, but can be red or blue.
It contains oriented fibers of crocidolite that have been replaced by silica. The fibers are twisted or crumpled instead of straight, reminiscent of sand and sunlight.
Tiger-eye is also vitreous (hard, unbendable and glass-like). With its strong chatoyance, the gemstone gets its name from its resemblance to the eye of a tiger.
