This hand carved Lion Skin Quartz stone hippopotamus figurine is 4 inches long and 1.6 inches wide and 2 inches tall.
Lion Skin Quartz is a mixture of golden Tiger-eye, which is a microcrystalline quartz (or in the chalcedony family), with a macrocrystalline quartz. Which makes for a beautiful chatoyant golden yellow and milky white semiprecious stone that has a more 3 dimensional look and some translucent areas!
Contrary to popular opinion-this material is similar BUT NOT Nellite (Pietersite and Tiger-eye combination) from China, as it has more white and does not have the trademark blue.
