This polished green Malachite decorator rock is 3.66 inches by 2.5 inches and 1.75 inches at its thickest.
Lovely dark green orbicular Malachite material from the Katanga Mine area in the Congo, Africa.
Malachite is a copper carbonate. It has a hardness between 3.5 and 4. It crystallizes in the monoclinic crystal system, and most often forms botryoidal, fibrous, or stalagmitic masses.
This material is found in the oxidation zone of major copper deposits.
This stone's name is from the Greek, malache, - "mallow" in reference to its green leaf color.
Metaphysical Properties: Malachite is a very protective stone, being especially helpful for general protection, travel protection, protection from evil, protection during pregnancy and childbirth, and protection for children.
