Burro Creek Jasper is a type of "pastelite jasper" meaning it coms in pastel colors (purple being the prettiest and most rare!).
Burro Creek Site is located 60 miles northwest of Wickenburg Arizona on Highway 93, near the city of Bagdad and the Bagdad Copper Mine.
Burro Creek is a well known rockhound destinations in Arizona. It's fairly accessible although remote, and there is a wide range of material to be found there. Dominant is the pastelite jasper which is strewn throughout the hills on both sides of the creek, one of the few places in western Arizona where water flows all year long.
