Product Description
Mohawkite Lapidary Cabbing Unpolished Stone Slab
This natural rough rock stone slab of Mohawkite is 7.5 inches by 3.75 inches and 6 mm thick.
It weighs .72 lbs. and is shown wet in the first 2 pictures.
This one has a thick edge where the saw didn't cut all the way through in the next slice.
Mohawkite occurs in only one area in the world, the Mohawk Mine in the Mohawk-Ameek area of Keweenaw County, Michigan.
This unusual semiprecious stone is a combination of algodonite, domeykite and copper arsenates with chalcopyrite (fool's gold!), nickel, cobalt, silver and iron.
Mohawkite has a very distinctive metallic sheen. Mohawkite has a great pattern of metallic areas set off nicely within a white quartz.
Mohawkite is soft, just a 3-3.5, so care must be taken when polishing and wearing Mohawkite cabochons. Also Mohawkite cabochons can tarnish and gentle use of a rouge cloth will keep it shiny!
Metaphysical Properties Of Mohawkite: Mohawkite is believed to increase one's sense of purpose and willpower.
