Llanite Unpolished Stone Slab Rough Rock Texas
A unpolished stone slab of Llanite that is 5.17 inches by 2.4 inches and 8.5 mm thick.
It weighs .26 lbs. and is shown wet in the first 3 pictures.
Sometimes misspelled Llanoite, it comes form the Llano Uplift north of Llano, Texas.
There is very little of this material left.
It is a form of Rhyolite with Quartz inclusions. It is a dark peach color and with iridescent blue spots and the unusual blue coloration of the quartz is thought to be due to ilmenite inclusions.
It is about 1.1 billion years old!
