The rough rock chunk of Succor Creek Jasper is sliced on one face that is 3.5 inches long by 3 inches wide and the piece is wedged shaped to 1.8 inches at its thickest.
It weighs .64 lbs. and is shown wet in the first 3 pictures. Look at the dry pictures-it does have some fracture lines.
Succor Creek Jasper is one of many varieties of picture jasper from the Owyhee Mountains of eastern Oregon.
Succor Creek Picture Jasper generally has brown sandy “desert” and blue sky landscapes. Its lines are more straight or linear with not much wave.
It is named for the canyon it is found in as well as the nearby Succor Creek, a tributary of the Snake River.
It was discovered in the 1960s and mostly mined out by the 1980's.
Metaphysical Properties: Succor Creek Jasper, as with all Picture Jaspers is said to help bring balance to your life.
