Blue Biggs Picture Jasper Polished Collector Stone Slab Oregon
Biggs Jasper is a famous northwest American picture jasper that comes from a deposit near Biggs Junction, Oregon.
This lovely piece is slabbed and polished on one face and it is 5.7 inches by 4.8 inches and 5 mm thick.
Named for its location it is also called Biggs Picture Jasper or Blue Biggs Jasper.
It was first found in 1960 in a creek bottom and in 1966 a large deposit was found when U.S. Hwy 97 was relocated through a canyon south of Biggs Junction. Unfortunately the area is now paved over!
Biggs Picture Jasper is known for its blue tinges, browns, reddish brown banding, and orbs or scenic patterns.
