This natural Fossilized Coral stone slab is 8.25 inches by 5 inches and 10 mm thick.
This is a Multithecopora Hypatiae or fossil coral from the middle Pennsylvania Period, (359 to 318 million years old) and was found near Dry Lake in Clark County, Nevada.
Fossil Coral is actually a stone pseudomorph after coral.
It is ancient coral that died many years ago and than was replaced by minerals that changed it into a chalcedony jasper stone.
This piece is from an old collection and it is labeled on the back.
