This lovely rare sagenite agate known as Owls Hole Agate is sliced and polished on one face, left natural on the back and sits at a nice slant for display.
This polished collector agate is 4.1 inches by 1.6 inches and .9 of an inch at its thickest.
The Owls Hole Agate comes from Owlshead Mountain near Baker in Death Valley, California. The area has been a part of Death Valley National Park for decades and therefore off limits for collecting.
Owls Hole Agate is known for its sagenite inclusions. Sagenites are blades or needle inclusions and often form in sprays. This lovely natural rock material has golden, white, black and lavender sagenites.
