Petrified Wood Polished Agate Limb Cast Fish Lake Nevada
This is Petrified Wood limb cast that is polished on one face-natural rough everywhere else.
The Petrified Wood limb cast is 2.86 inches long by 2.2 inches wide by 2 inches at its thickest.
It was found in the Volcanic Hills, Fish Lake Valley Mining District, in Esmeralda County, Nevada.
It is a fossilized conifer tree from the Miocene about 15 million years ago.
This is a limb cast as the wood decayed before the replacement occurred and so none of the characteristics of the original wood are present.
This petrified wood piece is from the Kirkby collection and was self-collected sometime in the 1930's to the 1960's.
