Succor Creek Jasper is one of many varieties of picture jasper from the Owyhee Mountains of eastern Oregon.
Succor Creek Picture Jasper generally has brown sandy “desert” and blue sky landscapes. Its lines are more straight or linear with not much wave.
It is named for the canyon it is found in as well as the nearby Succor Creek, a tributary of the Snake River.
It was discovered in the 1960s and mostly mined out by the 1980's.
