Product Description
White Skin Brazilian Piranha Agate 2 Piece Polished Rock Heart
Lovely White Skin Brazilian Agate cut in half and polished on both faces. It has a really cool, natural heart formation!
This lovely agate is 4.7 inches by 4.5 inches and 1 piece is inch at its thickest, the other (with the distinct heart formation) is only 1/2 inch at its thickest.
Named for its obvious white skin surface, White Skin Brazilian Agates are mostly found in decomposed volcanic ash and basalt from the late Permian age. In Rio Grande do Sul many of the agates are found and easily collected from plowed fields.
No gemstone is more creatively striped by nature than agate, chalcedony quartz that forms in concentric layers in a wide variety of colors and textures. Each individual agate forms by filling a cavity in host rock. As a result, agate often is found as a round nodule, with concentric bands like the rings of a tree trunk.
